Personal Background

My educational and professional background is only a small part of who I am.  What gives me the desire and drive to invest in your case and work hard for you is who I am as a person.

First and foremost, I am a family man.  I met my dear wife Heather when I was 19 years old, and we have been together ever since.  We have three lovely children – Lily, Lexy, and Alexander – who delight and challenge us in ways we never thought possible.  Once we started having children, we quickly understood and appreciated that they are one of the greatest blessings in life.

Second, I am a hard worker.  My high school history teacher started her class by saying that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.  That quote has stuck with me ever since.  When confronted with any challenge, no matter how daunting, I know that it is possible to overcome the challenge and triumph if I just take that first step.  I did that in college, where I graduated with honors, and in law school, where I finished first in my class.  I now apply that same work ethic to my cases, where I work day and night to make sure that you are fully compensated for your injuries.

Third, I am a native New Mexican.  My mother’s family traces its roots to Las Cruces, New Mexico, where, my great-great-great-great grandfather, Nestor Armijo, built the first two-story house in Las Cruces in 1877. My grandfather, Peter Gallagher, a descendant of Nestor Armijo, was an attorney in Albuquerque, New Mexico for over 20 years. My father’s side, on the other hand, traces its roots to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  My grandparents, Ralph and Elaine Marshall, moved from Oklahoma to New Mexico in the 1940’s so that my grandfather could help to start the state’s first medical society.  Growing up in New Mexico has allowed me to appreciate the rich cultural heritage and diversity that makes this such an exceptional place to live.
